Most people would agree that New York City has
everything that you could possibly want from a holiday destination. Times
Square gives you an illuminated spectacle unlike anything else in the world;
the Statue Of Liberty has a historic reputation that does not disappoint.
However, it is important that you try to experience everything that this
incredible location has to offer. For those of you that are preparing to visit
the ‘Big Apple’, allow Travlock Limited to highlight some activities
that you don’t want to miss out on.
Top Of The Rock
Naturally, one of your first thoughts when you arrive in New York will be to
try and secure tickets to travel up the Empire State Building. This is, after
all, one of the most recognisable landmarks in not only the United States, but
in the world. However, should you be a little more savvy, you will realise that
you would be better-off taking a trip across the city and going to the Top of
the Rock. This is at the top of the Rockefeller Center, and provides you with
stunning views - you will be able to see everything from Central Park to Long
Island.
Brooklyn Bridge
If you are someone that, above all else, likes to capture the memories they
make abroad in photo-form, you cannot overlook the Brooklyn Bridge as being the
ideal location to visit. Day-after-day, year-after-year, people flock to this
landmark, in the attempt to try and create the perfect picture. Although you
may struggle, due the crowds which form, when the sun shines there are few
places that can compare. Despite the fact that you will probably not be here
for very long, this will remain a firm-favourite of yours when you look back on
your trip.
9/11 Memorial
On this list, the chances are that you were expecting each-and-every activity
to be one that would bring you laughter and joy. However, it is impossible to
fly to New York without taking some time to remember the tragic events that
occured during 9/11. This was a terrorist attack that caused almost three thousand
deaths, and is an event that will live long in infamy. The memorial that has
been built is a touching reminded of those who list their lives, and we
strongly suggest that you see it for yourself.
Broadway
Before you leave, we would certainly recommend that you do everything in your
power to catch a show on Broadway. Whilst some people would argue that you can
enjoy the same type of experience by visiting the British equivalent (which is
the West End, in case you didn’t know), we believe that this is significantly
more-special. Whether you are someone that thinks that nothing beats the
classics, and therefore wish to sample The Phantom Of The Opera, or believe
that the contemporary Book Of Mormon is more in-line with your tastes,
rest-assured that you will be raving long-after you leave the theatre.
